Maroon VIP

What is Maroon VIP?

Maroon VIP is a volunteer student organization that greets all Mississippi State University guests with a warm southern welcome. These students serve the Welcome Center, the Office of the President and any other University department requesting the services of tours, information and events.

How are Maroon VIPs chosen?

To be eligible to apply for Maroon VIP, applicants must be full-time students with at least two semesters remaining at Mississippi State, as well as a minimum GPA of 2.5. The recruitment process involves both group and individual interviews with a selection committee. Once those are complete the selection committee determines if the student is compatible with the needs of the Welcome Center and President's office. Character, personality, friendliness, dependability, and an authentic love for our university are key considerations when choosing MVIPs.
